Elevate is a removable, lightweight, and powerful motor. With this kit, we have adapted Elevate for Search and Rescue applications. Custom mounting brackets are designed to fit the Cascade Rescue Terra Tamer wheel and the drive unit ships with software settings tuned for SAR use.

Notes:

  • Elevate SAR edition is currently a beta-stage product.
  • It has shown reasonable reliability in drier climates and proven highly valuable in speeding up recoveries, reducing the number of people needed for a recovery, and reducing rescuer fatigue
  • The drive unit is curretly sealed to a level that is capable of operating in light rain but is not yet sealed for heavy rain or submersion
  • We are actively working on improving the water sealing of the system
  • We offer full warranty support for all uses as field learnings are valuable for continued development
  • We recommend careful consideration when using this system for live rescues in very wet conditions

What’s included in the SAR kit?

The Elevate Search and Rescue (SAR) kit is an electric assist system for Search and Rescue Litters. The kit includes the drive unit, one battery pack, custom mounting hardware, a SAR-specific throttle and wiring harness, custom SAR software. A second battery pack is available as an option. The wheel team was able to move nearly as fast as hasty teams instead of being three times slower. Everyone was impressed by the powered wheel’s performance.
With a 200 lb load, we climbed 200 feet of elevation over three miles using only two rescuers on the litter.
A very positive day for the e-litter — the system performed exceptionally well on steep, demanding terrain.
