Works great in snow and
"Works great in snow and on the beach, the ability to swap one unit between bikes and take it with me inside when I lock my bike up or put it on a bus or car bike rack is nice aswell. . also if you brake your wheel or axle or something the unit will likely be fine, plus if you brake a chain or your freewheel strips the unit is entirely independent of the pedals so it will work just fine, it's like having two drivetrains, if redundancy is important to you."

Awesome system with impressive power
"I initially bought this as I wanted to ride more of our local trails with my 4-year old son and pulling him up the sometimes steep fire roads for 1400ft of elevation gain just wasn't an option and buying an e-bike just for this purpose wasn't an option as I enjoy riding my regular bike too much and I don't have the storage space for another bike. In comes the Elevate kit. Bought a used kit off of Pinkbike and had it shipped to Austria. Unfortunately, this meant I couldn't buy the battery as shipping would've cost a fortune. As a solution I bought a similar battery (14S2P with 6. 8Ah) with a different form factor from China and constructed a custom battery holder for it. Installation was pretty straight forward and took me about 1. 5h to get everything mounted, but I'm a pretty experienced hobby bike mechanic. So, as a beginner I'd recommend taking it to a bike shop for install. Shouldn't cost that much. Out of the gate I was really impressed with the power and torque the system has. My wife has an ebike with a Gen 4 Bosch CX motor and the Bimotal kit is easily as powerful if not more. It not only managed to pull up my son, but I also pulled my friend who is 190 lbs up my local hill and the motor didn't break a sweat! I also love how the app lets you customize the parameters like throttle sensitivity, torque, power and max speed for each mode. I cannot tell what the max range is but I can easily do two rounds on my home trails which is around 5. 5 miles and 1400 ft of elevation gain on trail mode with torque set to 50 Nm and 600W of power. Only issue I had was that with my setup the throttle connector wire was too long and I had to wrap it too many times which caused an annoying humming noise at times. Buying a shorter wire off of Amazon for a few bucks fixed that."

I have a few years
"I have a few years on me now and as a result, the uphill grinds just flat out kick my ass. The addition of the Bimotal Elevation conversion kit to my enduro allows me to enjoy ripping more downhills without burning myself out on torturous uphill grinds. Bottom line, the Bimotal Elevate conversion kit has put the FUN back in the game!"

Great product but could be improved
"The Elevate performs as promised. Enough power and responsive. However, it needs pedal assist to make riding easier and legal on USFS and local trails. The sooner the pedal assist feature is released, the better."

Wow wow wow. Amazing. I
"Wow wow wow. Amazing. I can pull two kids up a 20% grade and not be exhausted and dead. This is going to be so much fun. Worth every penny. Installation wasn’t “easy” but a YouTube video was great by a different guy that helped. Would also help with extra screws. I lost a little one on the plug connection. Took me 10m on my knees to find it… Love it. Highly recommend."

Overall great! A mechanics perspective:
"First off this thing rocks. I’m riding way more often and I can hack the desert heat which previously restricted my available riding hours. I can keep up with full power riders and am within a few seconds of newer motors like the Bosch cx race on climbs. It doesn’t have enough torque to punch at that level in super technical areas, but delivers as much or more than an SL emtb. People travel to Arizona for the techy riding so I’d assume this is a non issue for most riders in other areas with smoother climbs. I can definitely get my heart rate up and I like that it doesn’t encourage you to be lazy. With 2 batteries in boost I tend to get 30 miles and 4,000 vert of technical climbing. This is plenty for me without feeling winded and allows me to have electric assist without making the bike I put a ton of money into obsolete. Extra traction on the rear is a plus too, but add some pressure… I can burp a tire at 30psi normally so there is a balance between the extra grip it provides and the increase in unsprung mass on the axle. You can of course just take it off at the top but most people will just ride with it on always. No it is not a gimmick. I’m 200lbs and it’s got the juice. - another awesome note, this thing makes your drivetrain wear down slower than an analog bike since the assist goes straight to the wheel and doesn’t have to go through the chain. This is a major win for riders with expensive groupsets. I’ve seen stretched chains on normal e-bikes with 300 miles. Crazy!! Think about a super car that has an engine and electric motor that can provide electric torque during the gaps in power between shifts. This is a win for throttle because this power can be modulated to reduce drivetrain stress during shifts. If my di2/garmin/elevate could talk to each other this could also apply when pedal assist arrives. Similar to how some mid drive motors drop power when detecting a shift, this could give a small bump in power to let the bike effectively shift under less load. Things that would be nice to see in the future: -Crash replacement program for rotors: in the desert, rock strikes with 203+ rotors happen. Since the actual rotor arms are small, warps from rider damage can be severe in small spots and hard to straighten without some creativity. I had one event that caused enough warp to affect bite point until it got straightened as best as possible…that has been fixed but it runs a tiny bit and pulsates at that point in the rotors revolution under heavy braking. Brakes only slow you down so who cares - pedal assist will be a welcome change. You’ll get used to it, but thumb throttle takes a thumb away from operating your dropper or shifter, or if you get a Lekkie like I did, it’s at minimum another thing to think about. Pas will make it seamless. - garmin (ant+) would be nice. I can connect my di2 to my head unit and connecting this as well would make it easy to switch ride modes, see live stats, and keep my phone in my backpack, or better yet, at home. - a quieter system would be nice, but I hear this is in the works. - app connectivity has been spotty. When I power on and restart the app it connects every time but frequently doesn’t recognize the drive unit after coming back to the app when it’s been idle in the background for some time. My phone is on older software for what it’s worth. That may have an effect. Final word, If you spent a bunch on an analog mtb and don’t want to spend the same amount or more for an ebike of similar spec then this is perfect for you. If you spent 1k on an ebike from eBay and don’t see the value in this, that’s fine, it’s probably not for you. I agree that the value wouldn’t be there in that case. But if you know and love your bike and have spent years tuning it, give it some boost!"

super acceleration
"I got the Max version (titanium bike with trailer). Super power (start off with lower throttle settings to get used to it). Amazing how quickly you get off the start even in the steepest hills (much better than the other system I have tried). If you only want to increase your speed for example on the flat, it might not do what you want, it only kicks in if you pedal less / decrease your speed (and there doesn't seem to be a way of tricking it out). It is true that you don't feel any resistance of the motor wheel. Alignment needs to be precise (as mentioned before) to ensure it works well."

Works great, great range, only
"Works great, great range, only complaint is I wish I could toggle between power modes without pulling out my phone."
